Gyros is the west side of the island. The people here works in
farming and deals with wine and oils. Here you can find the church of Paleokastritsa. It
used to be a village here but the barbarians destroyed it and built a church there
instead. Near to the church there is a castle called Angelokastro, which means caste of
angels because its close to the sky meaning, its build on a hill. Click the image for

Sidari: Its a
large tourist area, which has beautiful beaches and a lot of attractions. Canal
dAmour is the most popular attraction. It is said that if two people in love swim
through this together, their love will last forever. Today some of the areas around the
channel has collapsed, but it's still a beautiful and mystical place.
Arillas: this place has been many times awarded the place of Corfu with the cleanest
water. Its an excellent place for swimming.
Ag.George: this seaside belongs to the village Pagi. Its a huge beach with tiny rocks,
clear cold water and here you can also places for food and amusement.
Paleokatritsa:
Here
you can find a monastery built in the 1200-century, but since it has been renovated so
many times, most of the buildings today arent much older than 200 years.
The view from the monastery is wonderful. Beside the monastery the entire area is a
beautiful memory to the ones who come here and it will be remembered a long time for its
beauty. The sea is very deep close to the beach and cold, even in august.
It's
very beautiful. You can also find caves under and above the sea. The caves are made of
sand, but they are solid. Many
of
those who come
to this place to scuba dive and harpoon fishing comes because the water is very deep close
to the shore. Kolovri, the rock which rises from the sea, is said
to be the place where Odysseus got his ship stoned.
Liapades: a very
beautiful village with 900 inhabitants
