
Its the smallest of the four regions on Corfu. They live of the
land and grow grapes, olive trees, they also have sheeps. In the old days Kassiopi was the
capital of the region of Oros. The t allest mountain on Corfu also lies in this area, the
great Pantokrator moutain.
Barbati: Visually
stunning, it lies
just
beneath the mountain of Pantocrator and looks out over some of the region's most
outstanding coastal scenery. You can swim in the crystal clear water and have fun
with the water
sport
facilities.

Nissaki:
a small village surrounded olive trees and a beautiful beach with rocks. You can also look
over to Lake Butring in Albania.
Ag.Stefanos: Excellent
place for windsurfing enthusiasts, but only if the weather permits it. Its also a very
good place for swimming.
Kassiopi:
Its a small village near to the sea. Its a very green place, beautiful
surroundings and crystal clear water. It is
the center of the region of "Oros". Ancient Kassiopi was founded in 281 BC by
Pyrros when he captured the island. In Kassiopi you can find the oldest fortress on Corfu
island. It was built by the Romans. The Venetians demolished it and the ruins you find
there today belong to the castle the Venetians built on the same spot.

Aharavi:
Its a wonderful place with sea and wild waves. This village has a great history. The
first name was IVI
which means Life, she was the daughter of Dias the father of the Gods in Greek
mythology.
In the year 32 A.C.
the village got destroyed from the roman emperor Oktavious and fellow emperor
Antonious.
Antonious took Oktavious throne. The young people of the village wanted Antonious
as their emperor, and for revenge Oktavious killed all the young people. Because of these
happenings, the village lost the life and happiness of the young people. After this the
name of the village changes into Aharavi (Ahari no life and ivi youth).
Today this named should be changed because its a place full of life and happiness.
Roda: a tourist area which
grows every summer season. It has a lovely sandy beach with small rocks. It has a lot of
stores, tavernas and a ok nightlife. The
village is situated
on the end of the seven kilometers beach of Acharavi and Almiros. Here you can find a
Doric temple dedicated to the Greek God Apollo. The temple was built in the 5th century BC
and the finds from this spot can be found in the Archaeological museum in Corfu town.
Mount Pantokrator: The Pantokrator (the
God in Orthodox religion) is 906 meters above sea level. Up there you will find a small
monastery . You can also see all of Corfu from here. The view is something more than
majestic.
Kouloura: the name kouloura means
ring and it comes from the nature around this beautiful place, the area looks like a half
circle. Here you can find taverns near to the wonderful sea. There are no hotels, only
small houses and apartments. This is the perfect place for relaxation.
